Toki (Adze)

Traditionally worn by Maori elders it represents power, wisdom and authority.

The Toki had much meaning to the Maori, it was of course an essential tool for the survival and day to day life of a Maori tribe. It was usually fashioned from stone or greenstone. The Maori also attribute the spiritual meaning of Strengh and Power, control, determination and focus, to the Toki.
